ßÙßÇÂþ» EOP Success
ßÙßÇÂþ» is committed to providing opportunities to talented students regardless of their background. Through the SUNY, we offer special support services for New York State students from academically and economically disadvantaged circumstances. The program includes financial assistance, tutoring and counseling, career and professional development, and other services.
First-year students will complete the ßÙßÇÂþ» Enrichment Program (BEP), which is the mandatory summer program that provides EOP students with intensive academic development and orientation to the ßÙßÇÂþ» community.
Transfer students who were previously enrolled in an EOP or similar approved program at their previous college(s) can continue receiving the assistance and advice provided by ßÙßÇÂþ»'s EOP.
ßÙßÇÂþ»'s EOP has an outstanding track record helping students reach their potential. Recent EOP seniors have been accepted for graduate and professional study by ßÙßÇÂþ», other SUNYs, and public and private institutions across the world
Eligibility
Candidates for ßÙßÇÂþ»'s EOP must meet both academic and financial criteria in order to be eligible. Guidelines include that you must:
- Be a New York state resident for 12 months prior to enrollment;
- Require special admissions consideration (first-year applicants, see below for details)
- Qualify as economically disadvantaged according to . In selecting students for the program, priority is given to applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds
- U.S. citizenship is not a requirement for admission to EOP. However, you must meet New York state residency, NYS TAP eligibility (through the ), and . If admitted, you will receive all academic, and social and financial support the program offers.

Early Action
EOP follows the regular decision timeline; therefore EOP applicants cannot be considered for Early Action admission.
First-Year Application Process
ßÙßÇÂþ» accepts the following applications:
Submit your high-school transcript and test scores (if opting in)
Students admitted to ßÙßÇÂþ»'s EOP represent a range of GPAs and test scores. For the past few years most students have demonstrated:
- Cumulative GPAs in low-to-mid 90s (on a 100-point scale).
- Combined SAT scores (math and evidence-based reading and writing) between 1100 and 1200
- ACT scores between 23 and 26
Note: ßÙßÇÂþ» is test-optional, which means standardized test scores are not required. For more details,  review our test-optional FAQ page.
Submit the required items for financial review

Next Steps
After your application and academic record are reviewed, we will send you one of the following notifications:
- You are eligible for financial review. Submit the required financial documentation, if you haven’t already done so. Eligibility does not guarantee admission.
- Your academic performance exceeds EOP guidelines and your application will therefore be switched into general admission for further review during the regular decision timeline. Your acceptance isn’t guaranteed.
- Your application is denied based on your academic record.
Continue to check the status of your application for additional requirements from Undergraduate Admissions. Additional financial documents should only be submitted if requested.

Confirm EOP eligibility
- If you are/were enrolled in an EOP or similar approved opportunity program (SEEK, College Discovery, or HEOP), we require verification of this by your current or former college/university. Check the status of your application for more information
- If you attend(ed) a SUNY college that »å´Ç±ð²õ²Ô'³Ù/»å¾±»å²Ô’t offer EOP, or a college outside of New York State with a similar approved opportunity program, you may still be eligible. Email Undergraduate Admissions at eopadmit@binghamton.edu.
