As a student volunteer or intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Develop Leadership Skills in Nonprofit Administration
- Learn how a nonprofit is managed, from funding and operations to strategic decision-making that drives impactful programs.
Build Expertise in Executive Strategy
- Gain exposure to the grant writing process, advocate for change through interaction with local and state legislation, and gain insight into policy-making committees.
Grow in Marketing and Fundraising
- Get hands-on experience with fundraising campaigns, social media, communications, and traditional/digital media. Learn how to track resources and support volunteer recruitment efforts.
Contribute to Program-Level Support
- Work alongside experts in four core program areas to make a tangible impact on community members:
- Perinatal Health
- Youth Education
- Family Resource Centers - PAL (Parents as Leaders)
- Health Insurance Navigation & Advocacy – Help families navigate health insurance options and advocate for better access to healthcare through the NY State of Health marketplace.
