Fish has led a visiting scholar program that has included 12 research team members from Nanjing, China, and one vascular nurse from Shanghai, China, since 2013. One scholar subsequently completed the PhD program in 2023 and became a nursing faculty member in the U.S.
With a research focus of cardiovascular disease in national and international populations, Fish has built a research trajectory, most recently studying chronic psych mental health conditions. A major accomplishment was working for 6 years chairing the EBP committee of the American College of Sports medicine to establish processes of EBP at the organization level to enhance clinical guideline output.
She has been published in some top journals across disciplines such as Nursing Research, Applied Nursing Research, Journal of International Studies, Patient Education and Counseling and Current Medical Research and Opinion.
