Joshua Garrett, PhD

Background
Joshua Garrett is a clinical associate professor in the Division of Nursing at ßÙßÇÂþ»'s Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. He joined the University in September 2023.
Garrett is a physiologist by training. His research has focused on the layer of cells that line the insides of all blood vessels known as the endothelium. Specifically, Garrett studies how endothelial cells perform under normal conditions and during inflammation that contributes to the pathophysiology of diseases such as adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) associated with severe COVID-19.
Inside the classroom, Garrett has taught a variety of classes related to human health, including anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology to nursing, pharmacy and medical students.
