is ranked among the nation’s most efficient universities, according to data released by U.S. News & World Report.
The magazine’s list shows which schools are able to produce the highest educational quality, while spending relatively less money than their peers. U.S. News & World Report calculated a school’s operating efficiency by dividing its 2011 fiscal year financial resources per student by its overall score from the U.S. News and World Report’s 2013 “America’s Best College” rankings.
is ranked 8th in the nation for efficiency with $22,181 spent per student. It is the only SUNY school to appear in the top 20.
In its 2013 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” U.S. News & World Report ranked the University 37th among public universities and colleges, and 89th among all public and private universities. Based on a range of excellence indicators, the U.S. News & World Report rankings measure peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and “graduation rate performance.”
