Ross Geoghegan, research professor of mathematics and department chair designate, has been elected a Foreign Member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences. He will give his inaugural lecture in Skopje during the spring 2016 semester. This achievement recognizes a long association between the ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Department of Mathematical Sciences and Macedonia initiated by Geoghegan. Seven of ßÙßÇÂþ»­’s PhDs in mathematics have come from Macedonia.
