International Education Week

(IEW) is a nation-wide celebration of all things international education. The goal of IEW, broadly speaking, is to celebrate and raise awareness around the benefits of student mobility and international exchange. It is an initiative headed by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.

The ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) and the Office of International Education and Global Initiatives (IEGI) collect and advertise events for International Education Week (IEW), which takes place November 18-22, 2024

Adding events to the International Education Week schedule

We encourage university departments and student clubs/organizations to submit events to the IEW schedule. Please complete the appropriate form below if you are organizing an event that you would like to promote during IEW.

World Trivia and Snacks with ISSS and IEGI

Global Networking Group - Fall 2024 Event Series

In celebration of International Education Week, come test your world trivia knowledge! All students are welcome to attend this event to compete. We will have a variety of international snacks to enjoy during the event! The team with the highest score will win prizes! See below for more information about GNG:

The ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Global Networking Group aims to promote meaningful interactions between current students, develop intercultural communication skills, and strengthen community among students. The program also strives to be as inclusive as possible - all members of the ßÙßÇÂþ»­ community are welcome to come to GNG events and there is no strict commitment. GNG is simply a series of casual, fun social events for globally minded Bearcats.

Crossing Borders: Promoting Your Health in the U.S.

Are you having trouble understanding the US medical system? Join us to:

  • Talk about how to use your health insurance.
  • Connect with on-campus and off-campus medical care, mental health and counseling providers.
  • Learn about the culture of the US healthcare system.  

Lunch will be provided. Please register in advance through B-Engaged.

Fall 2024 International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) UCTD Workshop Series for faculty and staff

This workshop will include a brief introduction to services offered by International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) as well as challenges faced by international students. 

Participants will learn more about:

  • Strategies for effectively communicating across cultures
  • Culture shock and reverse culture shock
  • Approaches for working with international populations and encouraging global citizenship
  • Opportunities for collaboration with ISSS
  • Additional resources for staff and faculty
