’s School of Pharmacy achieves Candidate status
Graduates now have same rights/privileges as those from fully accredited programs
School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences’ Doctor of Pharmacy program has been granted Candidate status by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, 190 South LaSalle Street, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60603, 312/644-3575; FAX 866/228-2631, website .
Achieving Candidate status from ACPE grants SOPPS graduates the same rights and privileges as graduates from a fully accredited program.
“We’re thrilled with this news,” said Founding Dean Gloria Meredith. “Our students can now complete their education confident that they will be competitive in their careers as we continue to provide them with a program that includes top-quality clinical and research experiences, advanced instrumentation skills and an interprofessional perspective necessary for today’s healthcare environment.”
The SOPPS enrolled its inaugural class of students in fall 2017, and was granted Precandidate status by ACPE in January 2017.
The school will welcome its second class of students in August, now with Candidate status, as it opens its new, $60 million, state-of-the-art building at the University’s Health Sciences Campus in Johnson City, N.Y.
