Israel Studies Undergraduate Research and Creative Work Grant
This award is designed to support students' independent research or creative work and is sponsored by the Center for Israel Studies. The Center supports research in the history, politics, literatures, and cultures of Israel. To qualify, your project must be supervised by a ßÙßÇÂþ» faculty member, and you must enroll in independent study credit (2 or 4), or honors thesis credit at ßÙßÇÂþ» (exceptions may be granted if a student has exceeded the maximum number of thesis or independent study credits allowed by his or her college). Funding is competitive and award amounts range from $200-700.
Eligibility
All undergraduates are eligible. Preference is given to students who do not have access to support through faculty research grants, to those completing senior theses, and to upper-level students (juniors and seniors). Students canearn this award or an Undergraduate Research Award (URA). They cannot earn both in the same semester.
Benefits
Amounts vary; limited resources are available. The maximum award is $700. Funds may be used for postage, purchase of necessary materials, limited travel for research purposes, or other modest costs incurred in the course of the project. Funds may not be used to support the cost of producing a senior thesis (photocopy and binding); other printing or photocopying costs require strong justification.
Application Process
Students submit an form that includes a description of the project, a project budget, and a budget justification.

Presentations
Recipients are encouraged to submit posters for the University Research Days, held in April. Recipients are also required to give a short talk and presentation on their work at an event sponsored by the Center for Israel Studies held in the spring.
