Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any educational program or activity that receives federal financial assistance. 20 U.S.C. § 1681(a).

ßÙßÇÂþ» Nondiscrimination Notice
Pursuant to ßÙßÇÂþ» policy, the University is committed to fostering a diverse community of outstanding faculty, staff and students, as well as ensuring equal educational opportunity, employment, and access to services, programs, and activities, without regard to an individual's race, color, national origin, religion, creed, age, disability, sex (including sex stereotypes), sex characteristics, gender identity, sexual orientation, familial status, pregnancy or related conditions, predisposing genetic characteristics, military status, domestic violence victim status or criminal conviction.
Employees, students, applicants or other members of the University community (including but not limited to vendors, visitors and guests) may not be subjected to harassment prohibited by law or treated adversely or retaliated against based upon a protected characteristic. ßÙßÇÂþ»'s policy is in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination and harassment. These laws include the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as Amended by the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972, and the New York State Human Rights Law.
These laws prohibit discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment and sexual violence, in all parts of our educational programs and activities, including admissions and employment. Who is covered by Title IX?
ßÙßÇÂþ» receives federal financial assistance in many forms, including grants from federal agencies for faculty research. Failing to comply with Title IX or other federal civil rights requirements may result in the termination of all or part of the University's federal funding, including awards for faculty research.
Educational institutions are required to provide comparable resources, support, and promotional opportunities for women and men in all disciplines, including science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Title IX's protection is not limited to women but protects the rights of both women and men. Title IX requires that males and females receive fair and equal treatment in all areas of education, including athletics.
ßÙßÇÂþ» Title IX coordinator
In accordance with Title IX regulations, the college has designated Andrew Baker as ßÙßÇÂþ»'s Title IX coordinator. Baker is responsible for monitoring compliance with these regulations. Questions regarding Title IX, as well as concerns and complaints of noncompliance, may be directed to him.
