ABOUT NETWORKING

ßÙßÇÂþ» the ßÙßÇÂþ» Network

The ßÙßÇÂþ» network is a sophisticated and comprehensive infrastructure that caters to the needs of the university community. Comprising a network of over 800 data switches and 3,000 wireless access points, this system is seamlessly interconnected through a high-speed forty gigabit per second fiber-optic backbone.

On a daily basis, this robust network serves the connectivity needs of more than 25,000 unique devices. It ensures seamless access to resources, providing a reliable platform for communication and research.

To ensure reliable internet connectivity, the campus maintains peering connections with two providers, allowing for the utilization of approximately 6 Gbps of internet bandwidth during peak usage times. We also peer with the New York State Research and Education Network (NYSERNet). By employing diligent efforts, ITS ensures that applications are able to function smoothly and perform efficiently across the campus network.

Users of the ßÙßÇÂþ» data network are expected to adhere to the guidelines outlined in the ßÙßÇÂþ» Computer and Network Acceptable Use Policy(**).
