What is B There?
B There is ’s room scheduling system and can be used by University faculty, staff and students to request space for a variety of events. To access the system, you will need a BU login id and password. Your affiliation will determine the spaces and types of events that you can request.
In B There, you can:
- Request space for class related events, study sessions, tabling and other events
- View schedules for events, courses, exams and rooms
Please be sure to plan ahead. Spaces have different requirements for how far in advanced the space can be requested; some are bookable immediately, some one day in advance and others 4 or more days in advance.

Who has access to B There?
From the main B There page, you can view limited information without logging in. To see more information and to make requests, you must log in. Anyone with an active BU login id and password can log in to B There. Depending upon your affiliation, you will be able to make the following request types:
Students
- Self Service Bookable Rooms-CW (small rooms available for small meetings and group study)
- Computer Pods (provided event is sponsored by a faculty or staff member)
Student Association Chartered and Approved Groups (designated group requestors)

When can requests be made?
Making requests requires an active BU login id and password. Throughout the year and depending on your affiliation, access for making future events changes. Generally, you can request for the current semester and, at times, a semester ahead for weekend events.
Notable Dates:

What is a self service request?
A self service request is a request that can be made for specific spaces and will be immediately approved. You must be logged into B There in order to make the request. Self service requests can only be made for the three group study rooms in the Classroom Wing and tabling in the Tillman Lobby, the Market Place and the Library Breezeway. In some cases, the system will limit the amount of time, the number of times during a certain time period and/or the times during the day when the self service option is available.

In B There, some spaces are requestable, while other are viewable only. For requestable spaces, you can see events scheduled in the space, as well as, make requests. For viewable only spaces, you cannot request to reserve the space through B There, but you can see events scheduled in the space.
Even if a space is requestable, there may be times when you cannot request the space even though the space does not have anything scheduled at the time. Refer to the B There Request Privileges chart under the “When can requests be made?” section.

Summer General Purpose Classroom Scheduling
During summer months, several blocks of general purpose classrooms are taken off-line to conserve resources. These spaces can be opened up for scheduling via the . Please allow a minimum of 72 hours for processing these requests. Any request made using this form for events during fall or spring will be denied.

Who should I contact to reserve spaces not in B There?
Not all reservable campus spaces are in B There. Here is a list of commonly reserved spaces and contact information for those spaces which are not reservable in B There.
- Anderson Center: Kirsten Knox (kgknox@binghamton.edu) Schedules the Anderson Center (Osterhout Concert Theater, Chamber Hall and Anderson Center Reception Room), Watters Theater and Fine Arts Grand Corridor.
- Benet Alumni Lounge: While primarily used for Advancement events, this room may be reserved for other events on a space available basis. Contact Alumni Engagement (777-2424) to request this space.
- Center for Learning and Teaching Learning Studio LN 1324C: Shana White (smwhite@binghamton.edu).
- Conferences and Events Services: Any external event held on campus must be directly organized by a University department, program or organization on campus. Any external sponsorship or collaboration must be approved and coordinated directly through that University department, program or organization. This includes, but is not limited to, faculty, staff or students wishing to host a local, regional or national organization conference at .
- East Gym and Fields: If you are interested in making a reservation, please review the policies and complete the online request found on the Campus Recreation website (/campus-recreation/facilities-services/facilityreservations.html).

What if I am requesting a space for an external group?

Why am I not able to make a reservation?
Some reasons include:
- You do not have access.
- Refer to the “Who has access” question. - Requests are not open for the time being requested.
- Refer to the “When can requests be made” question. - You are not requesting far enough in advance.
- For general purpose classrooms, requests must be made at least 4 days in advance. - The time requested is not valid.
- Most requests require a duration of at least 30 minutes.
- Tabling requests must be between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Mondays through Fridays. - If the request is a self-service request, you may have exceeded the number of allowable requests for the time period.
- If you are trying to request the room outside of the times the room can be reserved,
you will need to modify times to fit.
- Add note indicating the exact times you need. - There is a pending request in the system that is overlapping with your request.
- You do not have access.
