Dentistry

The courses required for admission to dental school are listed below, along with their ßÙßÇÂþ»­ equivalents. With the exception of the English and Physics, the remaining coursework is covered on the DAT. Therefore, you need to complete the Biology and Chemistry coursework prior to taking the DAT. Many dental schools currently require biochemistry (BIOL/BCHM 403) or will be adding biochemistry as a requirement in the near future. You will need to keep informed of these changes by periodically checking with the dental school websites. Moreover, Stony Brook Dental has instituted a requirement that all coursework, including biochemistry, must be completed by the time of application. For most students, this means by the end of Junior year

Online courses: Some ​professional​ schools do not accept online science courses, especially those with online labs. It is the student's responsibility to check the requirements for each school to which they are applying.
