Virtual Job Shadow

is a career and college exploration resource that is free for UB students! Students can use VirtualJobShadow to discover interests, compare colleges, develop life skills and more! First time logging in? No problem, access an introduction tutorial by simply clicking on the "my assignments" tab on your Dashboard. 

College 101 Guide

Our is packed with information about everything college.  This guide helps our scholars learn about the different types of colleges and universities out there, cost of college, and sources of financial aid.  There are also yearly high school checklists providing advice about what to do each year to stay on track for college.  Check out our guide and reach out to your Academic Counselor with any questions or activities you would like to work on.

The SAT is a standardized test used for college admissions.  Millions of students across the United States take the SAT when preparing to apply for college.  Upward Bound tutors can work with you to prepare for the SAT.  There are also helpful online resources:

CliftonStrengths Assessment

CliftonStrengths for Students (formerly StrengthsQuest) helps students grow confident in who they are and how they can contribute to the world. It's an educational program that uses CliftonStrengths assessment to measure 34 research-validated talent themes. CliftonStrengths will make it easier for you to think about and communicate your skills! Reach out to your Academic Counselor if you are interested in taking the assessment!
