The Watson College Advising Office, located on the second floor of the Engineering Building, provides basic advising services for students. No question or concern is unimportant, and seeking accurate information is a valuable part of your academic experience.
How it works
Watson College has a two-tiered advising structure, with faculty serving as the primary program advisers and the Watson Advising Office staff providing school and University-wide information as well as addressing various other advising and referral issues.
First-year computer science students are advised by their department's program coordinator in addition to being assigned to an individual faculty advisor in their program.
First-year engineering students connect with the Engineering Design Division (EDD) director along with additional EDD faculty during their first year at Watson College.
Upon official entry into their selected department of major, all rising sophomores, along with sophomore and junior transfer students, are assigned to a faculty advisor in their department. Additionally, each engineering department has an undergraduate director.
The bachelor of science programs in engineering are licensure-qualifying programs. Students in a bachelor of science program in engineering who are within 20 credits of graduation, or who have graduated from one of 's EAC/ABET-accredited bachelor of science programs in engineering are automatically eligible to sit for the NCEES FE exam (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, Fundamentals of Engineering exam).
To access the professional licensure disclosure, see the Professional Licensure section of the Watson webpage.
