ßÙßÇÂþ» maintains a network of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout University property. AEDs are located in public areas inside alarmed cabinets. The University currently maintains 175 defibrillators, and has transitioned all publicly accessible AEDs to the AVIVE model.
AVIVE AEDs are created with portability and accessibility in mind, from universally designed pads to instruction material built for diverse audiences. To learn more about these AED models, go to , or see below.
AVIVE AEDs can be turned on by pulling out the electrodes in the tab at the top. Once pulled, the AED's screen will display visual instructions on the placement of electrodes accompanied by verbal instructions. There are also buttons at the top of the AED for changing the shock to pediatric mode, or having the verbal instructions spoken in Spanish. |
